Ipod Touch and iPhone AccessoriesExamining The Best Accessories for Apple’s iPod Touch and iPhone
Hundreds of accessories have sprung up to cash in on the iPhone/iTouch craze- these are some of the better items.
Not all of the accessories for the iPod Touch and iPhone on the market are good value for money, but these few items offer both reliability and good service for music fans and video boffins alike. Speaker Accessories for the iPod Touch and iPhoneLogitech Pure-Fi Express Plus – £60 ($97): A simple, unassuming product with a decent set of speakers built into a sturdy and portable shell. The acoustics are enough to fill a decent-sized room easily and the included remote control makes shuffling songs from a different room a simple task. JBL On Stage 200iD – £99 ($160): A very powerful unit, this speaker set provides excellent acoustic quality and a very loud sound for it’s relative small size. With the ability to dock with every iPod model- even the very first unit- the JBL offers great surround sound for the price tag, even if it does look a bit like an American Civil War Ironclad sailing across the desk or table. Headphone Accessories for the iPod Touch and iPhoneEzGear ezEars SX50 Earphones £23 ($37): Despite its strange name, this set of ear bud-style earphones offer comfort like no other. The comfort of the unit is complimented nicely by the sound quality, which is ideal for RnB tracks and fans of heavy base. The price tag is also reasonable for the high quality of the product. Sony Noise Cancelling Over-Head Headphones MDR-NC7 £50 ($88): Part of the latest trend in affordable noise-cancelling headphones, this unit offers excellent sound for a reasonable cost. The manufacturer states that the unit “reduces unwanted ambient noise by 87.4 per cent” (Sony, 2009), and the sound quality is all the better for it- especially for classical music and other ensemble tracks. The unit is also small, though it is still an over-ear model and not as portable or subtle as in-ear earphones. Armband Accessories for the iPod Touch and iPhoneBone Touch2 Sport for iPod Touch £18 ($29): Suitable for arms with a girth of 28-40cm, this armband is an excellent addition to any fitness nut who likes music on the move. While it is only suitable for iPod Touch units, the protection offered by the armband includes a dust screen and silicone shell, which allows skin to breath and prevents any fogging or sweat damage to the expensive technology. Griffin Streamline iPhone & iPod Touch Armband £20 ($32): Suitable for iPhone and iTouch alike, this armband is ideally suited to the running enthusiast thanks to its washable neoprene construction and reflective surface for added visibility at night. Though the reflective surface is little more than a cosmetic addition, it is surprisingly useful as part of a night-runner’s reflective gear and the streamlined case for the iPod unit itself doesn’t get in the way or get caught in the flapping sleeves of a T-Shirt There are literally hundreds of accessories for the iPod Touch and iPhone on the market, so choosing the right accessory to compliment the technology can make all the difference.
