The Kindle 2 has arrived and sells for $359. The second edition boasts many improvements and offers quicker load times, a sleeker design, and much more.

The Kindle 2, Amazon's handheld reading tool, may be perfect for those who like to read when they travel. Books seem less intimidating when they are not stacked on the bookshelf and three inches thick. Amazon president Jeff Bezos is accurate when he states that the Kindle 'disappears' when used. Once the Kindle 2 is in hand, the reader becomes immersed in the content on the screen.

Heft and weight is a non-issue with the Kindle 2. People enjoy reading in a variety places and many complain of having difficulty with real books because unless the reader is in the absolute middle of the book, it is weighted to one side or another. The Kindle 2 is balanced and portable, and entirely usable in any situation.

The Kindle 2 offers wireless delivery and easy navigation options for consumers who were not quite pleased with the first offering. The difference between the Kindle 2 and its competitors is the wireless delivery of content. Furthermore, it never runs out of space and with one click of a button a reader can access an entire library of books and newspapers.

Portable Ebook

Unfortunately, the Kindle 2 portable ebook is still plagued with errors that must be fixed for its third edition.

Wireless options do not exist outside of the United States so it is important to make sure everything all reading material is loaded on it before departing the country. This will surely be fixed in the future as more people take their Kindle 2 abroad and find they do not have access to the same benefits they do in their home country.

On the Kindle 2, a reader can subscribe to newspapers and magazines. While the device is great for short content pieces, it proves bothersome when reading in transit because the pages are so big.

Ebook Reader

While a few small flaws exist, the Kindle 2 portable ebook is a resounding success.

The product impresses with its sleek design and sharp, high-definition quality screen. The 5-way button, though small, allows the reader to select left and right, and not just up and down like the original version. This proves helpful when for selecting and highlighting material.

There are now two layers of interaction included. For instance, there is an option at the bottom of the screen for the reader to skip to the next article when finished reading the previous one. In this fast-paced world, the Kindle 2 ebook has found a way to make page loads occur much faster saving time and energy.

Managing books is much easier as a reader can view his archive and re-download onto the Kindle 2. Moreover, deleting and managing books is much simpler.

Kindle 2 Review

The Kindle 2 dictionary is definitely improved. Highlighting a word gives its definition on the bottom of the screen and unlike the first Kindle, one can look up any word whether it is in the text or not.

Overall, the Kindle 2 ebook is a mesmerizing product. Consumers will be immersed in the content available and delighted with the high-quality screen display and the possibilities in such a compact package. The Kindle 2 is a quality product for avid readers on-the-go.
